Prayer Focus - August, 2006

p>Tuesday – 1
Please pray for Olga Savenkova, an FEBC volunteer in Slavyansk, who writes children’s stories for radio programs. Children like her stories very much and always ask for them to be repeated on the radio. Many of them received Jesus through FEBC children’s broadcasts and have become missionaries among the people they know.

Wednesday – 2
One of FEBC Russian Ministries’ largest monthly expenses are the electrical costs of our transmitters. Pray that God will send the needed resources to cover these increasing costs.

Thursday – 3
Please pray for Olga Kolesnikova, FEBC manager in Novosibirsk. Pray that many people in the center of Siberia become Christians through FEBC broadcasts.

Friday – 4
“My life was completely transformed and my family saved through FEBC programs. Thank you. Konstantin from Moscow. Praise God for performing radical changes in Konstantin’s life.

Saturday – 5
Please pray for evangelical churches in Russia to work together to become an influential force in Russian society. FEBC radio is helping evangelicals to speak with a united voice on many important issues.

Sunday – 6
“I accepted Christ because of your programs. At 43, I am a new man. I am a school teacher, and now I want to show my students how God has changed me.” Boris from Moscow. Pray that more Russian teachers will be transformed through the power of the gospel.

Monday – 7
“I was attracted to your station because you speak about God in simple terms, and I felt that you were sincere. You helped me read the Bible and to pray. Now I am in church. Thank you.” Tatyana from Moscow. Praise the Lord!

Tuesday – 8
Pray for FEBC broadcasters in Moscow. With more than 15 million potential listeners, the FEBC-Moscow station is reaching many business, political, and cultural leaders of Russia. Pray that our broadcasters will be able to effectively communicate the gospel to many leaders who, in turn, will influence other for Jesus.

Wednesday – 9
Galina, 25, writes, “I used to be a Jehovah’s Witness, and today I am in a Christ-centered church because of your programs. Thank you for bringing truth into my life.” Pray for people like Galina to find a close and fulfilling relationship with Jesus Christ.

Thursday – 10
Pray for Ludmila Akhterova, FEBC broadcaster, as she produces children’s programs in addition to her numerous office responsibilities. Pray that God will touch the hearts of many children through her radio programs and draw them to Jesus.

Friday – 11
Oleg Bindasov is FEBC’s programmer who reaches Russian men for Jesus. Less than 10% of the Russian male population can be categorized as healthy because of alcoholism, drug use, and crime. Oleg successfully reaches Russian men, helping them to become better fathers, husbands, and citizens by turning them to Jesus.

Saturday – 12
Natalia Chetverina ministers to many people who suffer from emotional problems, as she offers them healing counsel from the Bible. “It is exciting to see how ready people are to accept Christ when they see that God is interested in them, in their lives, and wants to heal their hurts,” says Natalia. Pray that many more will be saved through her programs.

Sunday – 13
“You make people think about God. I know that many pastors appreciate your broadcasts because they see people coming to their churches through your programs.” Fyodor from St. Petersburg. Pray that many more people will come to know the Lord through FEBC in Russia.

Monday – 14
Through local stations, FEBC broadcasters in Ukraine, reach 35 million potential listeners. As a result, many Ukrainians are becoming Christians through our radio ministry. Pray that many more will be saved. Also, pray that newly elected parliament of Ukraine will be able to bring stability to this country which has experienced many political upheavals during the last two years.

Tuesday – 15
For several months we’ve been praying for the opportunity to start a new FM station in Novosibirsk, the central city of Siberia. Pray that these plans will materialize. There are more than 3 million people living in Novosibirsk, and they need to hear a clear and constant presentation of the gospel.

Wednesday – 16
Please pray for Grigory, who listens to FEBC at his workplace. Pray that God will help him evangelize his co-workers.

Thursday – 17
“I became a Christian and joined a church because of your radio ministry. I had no father, but because of you I found my Heavenly Father. Thank you, friends!” Angelina from Noginsk. Praise God for Angelina.

Friday – 18
Please pray for Sergey Fomenko, FEBC’s administrative director in Russia. Pray that he’ll be able to secure broadcasting licenses for FEBC stations in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Saturday – 19
“It’s a miracle that your radio station has become such a major part of my life. I never seriously thought about God before I began listening to you, and today I am a different man; I am Christian.” Sergey from Donetsk, Ukraine. Pray for the church in Ukraine to grow.

Sunday – 20
Please pray for Moscow, a city of more than 15 million people. Pray that many Muscovites will come to Christ through FEBC radio broadcasts.

Monday – 21
“I teach music at one of the private schools in Moscow. Both me and my teacher from Moscow State Conservatory came to the Lord through your programs. Pray for us as we are trying to tell others about Jesus.” Victoria from Moscow.

Tuesday – 22
“I listen to you in Canada. It is amazing how many Russian-speaking people you reach throughout the world.” Andrey from Toronto. Pray for millions of Russian-speaking people who live in countries like Israel, the United States, and Canada to be transformed through FEBC Internet broadcasting.

Wednesday – 23
The FEBC station on Saipan reaches thousands of listeners throughout the former Soviet Union. People in small far eastern villages, deep in Siberia, and in oppressive Byelarus listen to FEBC short-wave broadcasts from Saipan. Pray for adequate finances for this operation.

Thursday – 24
Please pray for Oleg Cherny, an FEBC Russian Ministries’ chief engineer. Pray that God will fully restore his health. Also pray for his family. Oleg and his wife Natalia have a little daughter Yulia whose health is also fragile.

Friday – 25
Please pray for Dennis Kozlov, FEBC broadcaster in St. Petersburg who is also a member of the leadership team of FEBC Russian Ministries. Dennis is a very effective programmer and is able to reach the younger generation as well as those who are looking for the meaning of life. Pray that God will continue to use Dennis in an even greater capacity.

Saturday – 26
Elena Fyodorovna, 71, became a Christian through FEBC radio. “I found so many new friends,” she says. “I now have a Bible study group gathering in my apartment. But I am most grateful for the fact that Jesus now lives in my heart.”

Sunday – 27
FEBC studios in St. Petersburg need to be renovated. “Please pray that God will supply the finances,” says Sergey Fomenko, studio director. “We need renovations as soon as possible, but lack the necessary resources.”

Monday – 28
“After listening to your programs for several months, my wife Lisa finally made a decision to follow Christ. What joy! What joy! I am so grateful for your programs! May God continue to bless you and help you.” Boris from Moscow.

Tuesday – 29
Please pray for Mikhail Murashov, an FEBC programmer in Moscow, who produces programs for non-believers. Pray that many Muscovites will accept Jesus through his broadcasts.

Wednesday – 30
In preparation for the 2008 presidential elections, political activity in Russia is on the rise. Pray that God will bring fourth the right people to lead the country in the future.

Thursday – 31
Pray for Valentin Burlaka, who oversees FEBC operations in Ukraine. Pray that many Ukrainians will be able to build a strong relationship with Jesus Christ as a result of Valentin’s leadership.
