Crossing Russia
from Vladivostok at the Pacific to St.Petersburg at the Baltic Sea
Rudi Wiens, FEBC Russian Ministries Director, traveled with a small group of Christian leaders through Russia by car May 28th through June 11th. The group went from the far eastern city of Vladivostok at the Pacifc to St. Petersburg at the Baltic Sea. It is more than six thousand miles. Russian roads can be rough, but there were many blessings along the way as they met FEBC listeners throughout this great land. People of all ages and different backgrounds listen to us and for many those hours of listening have been life-transforming.

"It is an amazing feeling to come to a village that is full of people without hope, literally drinking themselves to death, and then meet a small group of believers who came to Christ through listening to FEBC," says Rudi. "Or to come to a large city like Novosibirsk and realize that we are ministering to thousands of people living in this Siberian city, people who do not know Christ as their Savior."
Special thanks go also to Fred Taylor from Whittier in California who made this trip possible and was the most dedicated driver. There were two drivers per car, except Fred's. Fred held on to the steering weal from Vladivostok in the Far East to St.Petersburg in the West. Being a foreigner in Russia, the police loved to stop him. By accident Fred got bitten by a police dog. He also caught a tick which had to be removed in the hospital somewhere in West Siberia. Otherwise, we all did just fine.
Here are some pictures from the road. If you want to see real Russia, you are in the right place!
